I love this! In process of moving, no room, we are using for a toy box and extra seating. It's very beautiful as is, but can always be stained or painted.
Bought this to fit under a bay window over a deck. The box is made of solid wood that appears to be pine or similar. Spray finish has been applied. I spilled a few drops of mineral oil inside and it did not penetrate the finish. It's too small for furniture cushions and not watertight; not an issue for me but be aware. I placed a 10 liter bucket full of hand garden tools inside in one of the photos to give a rough sense of size. The weak link is the hardware. It is of poor quality and I am not confident it will remain anchored in the soft wood over time. I expect to be shoring the box up with bolts and angle brackets if it gets much use, but the wood is of sufficient quality to make that worthwhile. Overall I am pleased with and think it is a good value for the price.
This storage box is a great option if you are looking for one. The price is great for what you get. I painted mine to match our front porch and the wood took the paint well and I love how it turned out.
For the low price - you will not do better. Comes well packaged and easy to assemble. Clean and attractive wood - I would seal it if outdoors so it will go the distance in the elements.
I was pleasantly surprised to see how sturdy (yet lightweight) this is. It is well made and easy to assemble. A true surprise these days...
