The VINGLI Square Raised Garden Bed gardening containers, which are shipped disassembled, are an amazing modular design. You can see the different configurations in their Amazon listing.
You do need to think about the configuration you want as you assemble each container.
I chose to make all six of my containers be free standing as I will use them on my deck and I need to be able to move them about when filled with soil.
The planter design from a gardening viewpoint is interesting in that you have good control of how wet you want your plants roots to be. Vingli thoughtfully includes two extra water plugs per container.
Since the corner columns are hollow, I plan to insert 3' by 3/4" wooden posts in each corner column to act as supports for my tomatoes.
ASSEMBLY:
Read the instruction sheet several times and do a test run noting how the sides will be attached to the base and how the corner columns will be attached to support the sides.
The plastic material is dark so good lighting is a must to be able to see the slots around the base that hold the sides in place and to align the female keyway slots in the corner columns that slide downward into the male keyway slots on the ends of the sides.
You need to go step by step following the instruction sheet to assemble the basic container. The 4 sides need to be in place before the corner columns can be added.
Don’t slide the corner columns in upside down. Once locked in place they would be very hard to remove.
The keyway slots in the columns used as the legs need to match up with the keyway slots in the corner columns above if you plan to fasten the containers side by side as two up, three up, etc.
Tip #1 - If the pieces don’t to seem to fit into each other, then your alignment is not right. Examine how the pieces mate.
Tip #2 – The final seating of the sides, the corner columns, and the legs should be done with a rubber or wooden mallet, or maybe a block of wood used has a hammering tool. I used the smooth side of a wooden kitchen meat tenderizer mallet.
Important: After the wicker side panels are fully seated in their base slots, they need to be tapped on their lower right side near the bottom to slide to the left by ¼ inch to be correctly positioned on the base. Otherwise, the corner columns will not fit into the keyway slots on the ends of the side panels.

The keyway slots in the corner columns do not easily slide into the side panel keyways. You can start them by hand, but if you don't have hands like "John Henry", you will have to tap them down with a hammering tool to make them be flush with the tops of the sides.
Likewise, for a really wobble free container, you will need to turn the container upside down, place the legs in position, and fully seat the legs with a few good taps from your hammering tool.
Finish up with the decorative strips around the top of the sides and snap in the decorative caps on each corner bracket if that container is an upper container or a free-standing container.
The first container I assembled took me about 20 minutes including reading, test fitting, and correcting mistakes. The next one took about 8 minutes and the others I did in 5 minutes each.
I couldn't be happier with these planters. There are other similar models out there, but these are fine choices for me. I transplanted my basil and mint seedlings to them just before the big heat wave last week, and these guys helped them survive and even thrive!
I always had a smaller version of this planter, just 2 boxes, and it’s held up well after 2+ years so I decided to get another one. It was so easy to put together and I love the different configurations you can make. Now I’m excited to start planting!!

Great size to plant my impatiens! Well- made and they look cute in my yard.
Overall happy so far. I like the material design, and the ability to add more planter boxes in the future.
When filled with soil, it has plenty of weight... so no worries about tipping over.
It did take me a few "assemble, disassemble, reassemble" tries, as I modified the configuration. Mostly operator error, but the slots in the "legs" need to be aligned for a perfect fit.
I ordered 4 and was so impressed by how easy it was to assemble these. They feel sturdy and I can’t wait to put them on my deck, add dirt and plants. I will have to be patient however, we received 17” of snow in the last two days.

I have mixed feelings. They are pretty and if you just have a few they are sturdy. I wanted two tiers so I have six units three on top three on the bottom. After attaching all six pieces and putting soil in all the pieces.
